Jhunjhunu: Three passengers were killed and five others sustained severe burns in a fire triggered by a Bolero and a dumper collision near Thirpali toll plaza on the Chandgothi-Thirpali road of Churu district Thursday late evening, police said.According to the police, the accident occurred on the border of the Pilani area of Jhunjhunu and the Hamirwas police station area of Churu district. The impact was so severe that the Bolero immediately caught fire, they said.Upon receiving information, Hamirwas police station officer Rai Singh Suthar, along with Additional Superintendent of Police Richpal Singh and IPS officer Abhijit Patil, reached the spot with a police team. Fire brigade vehicles were summoned, and efforts were initiated to douse the flames. Station officer Rai Singh Suthar stated that 3 people were burnt alive, while 5 others were seriously injured.According to information, all occupants of the Bolero were travelling from Siddhmukh towards Pilani to attend a wedding when their vehicle collided head-on with an oncoming dumper. Following the collision, the Bolero caught fire, trapping the occupants. Locals pulled out the injured, shifting them to Pilani hospital. After primary treatment, all injured were referred for advanced medical care given their critical condition. Traffic on the route was disrupted on the route for some time following the accident. Jhunjhunu CMHO Chhote Lal Gurjar stated that 2 of the 5 injured, whose condition was critical, were referred to Jaipur.The bodies of the deceased have been kept in the mortuary of Pilani hospital.
