Jaipur: In the second major action under the special anti-drug campaign “Mission Jagriti”, police Tuesday arrested five people and registered five cases under the NDPS Act across multiple areas in the city’s south division.Deputy commissioner of police (South) Rajarshi Raj Varma said the accused were held from areas under Sodala, Jyotinagar, Shivdaspura, Sanganer Sadar and Muhana police stations during coordinated raids targeting narcotics supply and consumption networks.Police said the crackdown led to the seizure of 776 grams of cannabis, 6 grams and 28 milligrams of smack, 14 pieces of charas, Rs 6,590 in cash, along with one scooty and three mobile phones suspected to be linked to drug activity.The operation was carried out under a broader statewide directive to curb organised crime. Teams were formed under the supervision of Additional DCP Lalit Sharma and ACP Aditya Kakde, involving station house officers, district special teams and cyber cell units.Officials said the teams conducted an extensive door-to-door survey in slum settlements, identifying charge-sheeted and suspicious individuals.
