Jodhpur: The high court has upheld the denial of quota benefits to candidates from reserved categories hailing from other states in the NEET-PG counselling process for Rajasthan. The court ruled Monday that such benefits are constitutionally confined to state-specific categories. The single bench of Justice Sanjeet Purohit dismissed a writ petition filed by the Federation of Private Medical and Dental College of Rajasthan, which sought the quashing of the counselling board’s Feb 18 decision. The decision, which treats reserved category candidates from other states as unreserved candidates, excludes them from the benefits of a reduced qualifying percentile needed for admission.
