Jaisalmer: Sriganganagar police arrested four men from Punjab on Wednesday after seizing 2.34 kg of heroin worth Rs 12 crore that police say was smuggled into India by drone from Pakistan along the international border. In a separate case, two men were arrested with 303 grams of heroin worth about Rs 1.5 crore.DSP Sriganganagar, Hari Shankar, said, “Police recovered a total of 2.3kg of illegal narcotic substance heroin smuggled via drone from Pakistan by unknown accused.” A bag, a jacket, a warm shawl, a lower and two pairs of shoes were also recovered.The arrested included Gurcharan Singh, 28, of Rampur Raiya, Rajendra Singh Jidra, 25, of Bitla, Narendra Singh alias Kaka, 21, of Katgarh in Fazilka, and Mandeep alias Mani, 23, of Raipur Gujra in Nakodar, all in Punjab. Police also seized a Creta car allegedly used in the smuggling.In the second case, Padampur police seized 303 grams of heroin, Rs 1.6 lakh in alleged sale proceeds and a motorcycle, and arrested Vikas, 49, and Ranjit alias Sethi, 35, Raisingh Nagar.
