Jaisalmer: Passport and post offices in several cities of Rajasthan, including Jaipur, received another bomb threat via email Thursday, prompting evacuation and searches by security teams that found no suspicious object.The threat message claimed that 10 poisonous bombs had been planted on the premises. The email was sent in the name of Saurabh Biswas and referred to the alleged insult of Dr Abdul Mohammad of Bengaluru Medical College. Kotwali police reached the Jaisalmer head post office, which also houses the district post office, along with dog squad and bomb disposal squad. All employees and visitors were moved out of the premises. After the search yielded nothing, the post office was later reopened for employees and the public.In Barmer, Churu, Sriganganagar and Hanumangarh as well, the same email threat was received, which led to evacuation and security checks.In Jaisalmer and Barmer, officials restricted movement in the surrounding area as a precaution and deployed additional security forces to manage crowds and secure the location. The Kotwali station officer said threatening emails had been coming for some time and a pattern had been established.Police and the administration appealed to the public not to panic, not to pay attention to rumours and to report any suspicious activity immediately. Security arrangements have been kept tight for now.
