3 held in Bhilwara for reel against PM Modi, probed for ‘terrorist links’

Bhilwara: Police in Bhilwara Wednesday arrested three young men from the minority community over a social media reel that allegedly contained “indecent language” against Prime Minister Narendra Modi, superintendent of police Dharmendra Singh said.The SP said police were also investigating if the detained men had connections with terrorists, for which forensic team and the cyber cell had been involved in the probe.The video reel, shot in Jahajpur town, had gone viral on social media. It showed three young men conversing, during which one of them allegedly made foul comments against PM Modi. Police arrested the three men and registered a case at Jahajpur police station under sections of IT Act along with Section 113 of BNS, the SP said.The men were identified as 26-year-old Mohammad Wali Sher, 20-year-old Awesh Raza Mewati, and 24-year-old Fardeen Mohammad, all residents of Jahajpur town. Police said they were being interrogated.SP Singh said, “Information was received about an objectionable video from Jahajpur police station area, following which police registered a case under various sections and arrested the 3 youths who made the video.” He added that police were conducting an investigation to determine the intention behind making the reel and making it viral on social media.
