Jaipur: The investigation wing of income tax department in Jaipur continued its search operation at Rajasthan’s well-known food chain Kanha Restaurant for the third consecutive day Friday.The raids began at around 7am Wednesday and are being conducted simultaneously at 33 locations across Rajasthan and Mumbai. In Jaipur alone, searches are underway at 26 premises. So far, the dept recovered around Rs 1 crore, jewellery worth around Rs 5 crore, and identified 10 bank lockers linked to the group. The process to open lockers is currently underway, and officials believe more undisclosed assets worth crores could be uncovered once they are accessed. The details of the seizure would be shared only after the completion of the searches and final assessment. During the operation, officials discovered a concealed strong room hidden inside a wall at one of the premises. Upon opening it, the team recovered jewellery worth approximately Rs 5 crore. “An additional Rs 50 lakh and two more bank lockers were found during the searches, taking the total recovery to Rs 1 crore, jewellery worth Rs 5 crore, and 10 bank lockers,” said an officer. The income tax teams are conducting a detailed examination of bank accounts, digital financial records, cash transactions, and property-related documents. Several important files and electronic data were seized for further forensic analysis. Preliminary findings reportedly indicate financial irregularities. “Now we are opening the bank lockers, in which we can get details of movable assets and papers of immovable assets. It is not yet concluded. We will disclose the final seizure only after concluding the searches,” said an officer. Further investigation is underway.
