Jaipur: State govt employees from across Rajasthan staged a protest in Jaipur Monday under the banner of All Rajasthan State Govt Employees Federation, alleging continued neglect of their long-pending demands related to pensions, pay anomalies, promotions, and service conditions.Taking out a protest march from Ramniwas Bagh that passed through key city roads and culminated in a public meeting, causing severe traffic disruptions, the employees warned that if the govt failed to take concrete decisions by March 31, the federation would intensify the agitation across the state, including short-notice strikes.Addressing the gathering, federation president Mahavir Sharma accused the govt of repeated “promise-breaking” towards subordinate service employees. “Despite announcements in the budget, neither cadre restructuring was implemented nor pay anomalies resolved. Employees are continuously being ignored,” Sharma said.He alleged that imposition of the New Pension Scheme (NPS) in boards and universities instead of restoring the old pension scheme had endangered employees’ future. “This is an attack on the social security of lakhs of employees,” he said.Sharma further criticised the absence of a transparent transfer policy and delays in transfers of thousands of grade-III teachers. He also highlighted the plight of contractual and honorarium workers. “Lakhs of contractual workers are being exploited. They are neither regularised nor given respectable remuneration,” he said.Federation leaders warned that failure to resolve issues would lead to a statewide movement. “If the govt continues to remain indifferent, employees will be forced to take the agitation to the next level,” Sharma cautioned.
