Jaisalmer: Police arrested a young man Sunday evening for allegedly raping a 7-year-old girl in Barmer city, roughly three hours after the crime took place.The police identified the accused as Magh Singh.According to police, the girl was playing outside her house when the accused approached her. He asked her to guide him to an unknown person’s residence, using that as a pretext to lead her to a deserted spot. He then lured her into nearby bushes and assaulted her.The child managed to walk back home in pain and recounted the incident to her family, who immediately rushed her to the hospital.“A Special Investigation Team (SIT) has been formed to probe the case. The minor is currently undergoing a medical examination,” Barmer ASP Nitesh Arya said.
