Jaipur: The health department Wednesday issued notices to the chief medical and health officers (CMHOs) of 10 districts for slow identification of high-risk pregnant women during a five-day statewide screening campaign.The districts are Karauli, Phalodi, Kotputli-Behror, Jodhpur-I, Balotra, Khairthal-Tijara, Alwar, Barmer, Bharatpur and Deeg. Health and Medical Education Principal Secretary Gayatri Rathore issued the directions during a video conference with medical college superintendents, principal medical officers and CMHOs.A review found that anaemia accounted for most high-risk pregnancy cases detected during the campaign. Rathore directed health teams to intensify screening, treatment and follow-up to reduce severe anaemia among pregnant women through timely intervention.She also instructed officials to closely monitor maternal and child health and nutrition day sessions across the state, strengthen field-level supervision and obtain feedback from pregnant women and lactating mothers.Rathore stressed the need to organise regular blood donation camps to ensure adequate blood availability. She also directed officials to share updated contact details of 104 and 108 ambulance staff with ANMs, community health officers and district authorities to improve referral services.CMHOs were asked to ensure all auxiliary nurse midwives have essential equipment, including blood pressure monitors, fetal heartbeat devices and medical kits, while defunct referral vehicles should be repaired immediately.
