Youth killed in clash during cow smugglingchase in Alwar

Alwar: A 28-year-old man was killed in a violent clash that broke out during a cow smuggling chase in Sarekala village under the Chopanki police station limits of Khairathal-Tijara district early Monday morning.According to Bhiwadi DSP Kailash Chaudhary, the incident occurred around 5am when a pickup truck allegedly transporting cattle from Tapukda towards Tawdu was being chased by a group seeking to free the animals. Near Sarekala, another pickup carrying 5–6 men, including Aamir (28), a resident of Utawad in Haryana’s Palwal district, arrived at the spot. Police said the vehicle was loaded with stones, following which a clash and heavy stone-pelting took place between the two sides. Chaudhary said Aamir was among those pelting stones and sustained injuries during the violence. “It will be clear only after investigation whether the death was caused by a bullet or a stone,” he said, responding to allegations of firing. However, Aamir’s family has alleged that he was not involved in cow smuggling and was merely standing by the roadside. His maternal uncle, Yahya Khan, claimed Aamir had come to Sarekala from Nuh Mewat to pick up a vehicle. “He was standing by the roadside when a pickup passed and was being chased. Bajrang Dal members mistook him for a smuggler, rammed their vehicle and attacked them,” Khan alleged, adding that 5–6 rounds were fired and one bullet hit Aamir in the head. Police seized two pickups allegedly used by smugglers and a Bolero Camper belonging to those chasing them. Five cattle were rescued and sent to a gaushala. Separate FIRs for murder and cow smuggling have been registered. No arrests have been made so far.
