Jaipur: A 65-year-old woman was hospitalised in critical condition after she was pushed to the ground and dragged during a bag-snatching incident in Nirman Nagar Sunday evening. The victim, Vandana, a resident of Shanti Nagar, was returning from the market around 7:30pm when a biker attempted to snatch her bag. As she resisted, she fell face first on the ground and was dragged by the biker for several feet on the road, resulting in severe injuries to her head and limbs. Locals said she lay unconscious and unattended on the road for nearly 45 minutes.Residents claimed that despite a police station being nearby, police reached the spot only around 8:30pm. A local councillor said no one initially recognised the woman, which delayed medical attention. She was later shifted to a private hospital. Police said they were reviewing CCTV footage and multiple teams have been formed to identify the culprit. “Footage showed a suspicious car parked for 10 minutes near the site before the attack. Another camera captured a biker loitering near the councillor’s office before targeting Vandana,” said an officer.
