Alwar: Bhiwadi police Wednesday disclosed that the 65-year-old man from Bihar who was found murdered in Santara Colony under the UIT police station area a day earlier was killed by his wife and her cousin’s husband over an illicit relationship. The accused duo was arrested while attempting to flee to Bihar. Guddu Rai, a 65-year-old resident of Sohanvarsha, Bhagalpur, Bihar, was found dead with a deep wound on his neck in the rented room where he lived with his wife Bobby (40), Tuesday evening. Bhiwadi SP Prashant Kiran said the murder, which was executed Monday night, was orchestrated by Bobby and her brother-in-law Anuj Chaudhary due to an illicit affair between the two. “Investigation revealed that the murder was planned after Guddu discovered the affair and began opposing it,” the SP said. Chaudhary, who had been residing in Santara Colony for eight years, had allegedly developed a close relationship with Bobby, who lived with her husband in a nearby colony. Their frequent communications, reportedly 15 to 20 times a day, eventually led Guddu to discover the secret relationship. The plot thickened when Chaudhary invited Guddu and Bobby to Santara Colony under the guise of helping them settle into a rented room, police said. This move was intended to facilitate Chaudhary’s meetings with Bobby without arousing suspicion. To further conceal their relationship, they arranged for Guddu’s minor son, Harsh, to stay in a different colony, said police. As Guddu became aware of the affair and began to oppose it, Bobby and Chaudhary allegedly plotted his murder. According to the police, Guddu was strangled with a rope by his wife, with Chaudhary present in the same room during the crime. The rope used in the crime was later discarded by Chaudhary, but police recovered it during their investigation. Following the murder, the pair planned their escape to Bihar. Chaudhary withdrew Rs 5,000 from an e-Mitra and the two arranged to meet at Neelam Chowk in Bhiwadi to catch a bus. However, their plan was foiled when police, acting on a tip-off about the cash withdrawal, intercepted Chaudhary. He confessed to the crime and revealed Bobby’s location, leading to her arrest, police said. SP Kiran said Guddu, who had been suffering from tuberculosis for 15 years, was unable to work, leaving Bobby as the sole breadwinner. Both Bobby and Chaudhary were employed at a private chemical company in Bhiwadi.
