Alwar: Four employees of the electricity department, including an assistant engineer (AEN), were injured after a vigilance team was attacked while checking power theft in Kathumar town Saturday morning.The incident occurred around 7 am when the team reached a house on Patti cremation ground road following a tip-off about illegal power connections. As the team caught two men stealing electricity by drawing jumpers from a pole, the accused and their family members allegedly assaulted officials with sticks and fists.Lineman Bachchu Singh Chaudhary sustained a serious eye injury and was referred to Alwar district hospital, where he is undergoing treatment. AEN Pramod Sharma and employees Rajkumar and Narottam Yadav were treated and discharged.Police registered a case for obstructing government work, assault and attempt to murder. CCTV footage from nearby areas is being examined as part of the investigation.
