Union seeks compensation for doc’s death

Jaipur: All Rajasthan In Service Doctors Association (ARISDA), a union of more than 10,000 state govt doctors, has demanded criminal prosecution and suspension of those responsible for negligence that led to death of resident doctor Dr Ravi Sharma at RNT Medical College’s hostel on June 18. It also demanded compensation for the doctor’s family and a govt job for a dependent family member.“On Tuesday we will submit memorandum to the chief minister through the district collector in all districts and through the sub-divisional officer in all blocks. If prompt action is not taken on our demand, ARISDA’s core committee will consult with district associations to expand the movement further. We demand that the govt form a high-level committee by the district administration to address issues in the hostel by speaking with the resident doctors living there,” said Dr Ajay Chaudhary, president of ARISDA.
