Udaipur: Drug vendors in Udaipur Monday began a protest by wearing black armbands due to delayed payments from RGHS, rejection of bills, and withholding payments under the pretext of pending TPA. The chemists in Udaipur demonstrated their dissatisfaction at their shops by wearing black armbands. They asserted that payments to RGHS drug vendors were not being disbursed on time. While they continued to provide patients with prescribed medicines, their bills were unjustifiably rejected, and payments were withheld citing pending TPA.In Udaipur, Rs 50 crore that is to be disbursed to 121 RGHS authorised chemists is stuck. Chemists have decided to continue providing medicines to patients but would persist in their protest under banner of the State Drug Vendor Committee until Sept 17. Association’s president, Vivek Vijayvargiya, stated that across the state, 4,800 chemists have Rs 880 crore stuck. He added that under the contract, payments were agreed to be made within 21 days.
