Three leopards attack goat herder in Udaipur, man seriously injured

Udaipur: A family of three leopards — two adults and a cub — attacked a 35-year-old man while he was grazing goats in the Gogunda area of Udaipur district Wednesday evening, leaving him seriously injured.The injured man, identified as Logar Lal Gameti, a resident of Kankan Ka Guda, was first taken to Gogunda hospital and later referred to Udaipur district hospital after suffering head injuries.The leopards attacked Gameti in Kankan Ka Guda when he was grazing goats in a forest area. Hearing his screams, nearby villagers rushed to the spot and raised an alarm, prompting the leopard family to flee into the bushes.Gameti’s wife, Leelabai, said her husband had gone to graze goats when the leopards attacked him. Villagers added that if they had not raised an alarm, the leopards would have killed Logarlal.After the attack, resident demanded that forest department officials set up cages to capture the leopards. They also said the movement of a leopard pair and their cub had been seen in the area for a long time, creating fear among residents.
