Jaipur: A 15-year-old boy was killed in a hit-and-run accident in Jaipur Tuesday evening after a speeding truck rammed into a scooter near Nai Mata Temple under Amber police station. The victim, identified as Safan Baig, was riding pillion with his relative when the truck struck from behind. While his cousin survived with injuries, Baig was run over and died on the spot. According to the accident police station (north), the incident occurred around 7.30pm as Baig and his relative, Shariq, were returning from Amber on a scooter. As they reached near the Nai Mata Temple, an out-of-control truck hit them from behind. The impact threw Shariq to the side of the road, while Baig came under the wheels of the truck. The driver did not stop and fled. Local residents rushed to the spot and informed the police. A team from the Amber police station arrived and took control of the scene. TNN
