Jaipur: A chemical-laden tanker overturned and caught fire on the Nagaur–Ladnun stretch of National Highway-458 on Wednesday night, triggering a massive blaze, police said.Superintendent of police Mridul Kachawa said the driver managed to jump out of the vehicle in time, and no loss of life was reported. The blaze was intense, and flames were visible from nearly two kilometre away, officials said. The incident occurred near Kunjal Mata Temple at around 10 pm, when the driver lost control of the vehicle at a turn, and the tanker overturned before catching fire.Authorities temporarily closed the highway from both sides and deployed 4 fire engines to control the blaze, they said.Six ambulances were also stationed at the spot as a precautionary measure. The tanker, which was carrying around 30 tonnes of chemical from Gandhidham in Gujarat to Sonipat in Haryana, was completely gutted in the fire, police said.Surpaliya police station personnel and municipal fire brigade teams rushed to the spot and brought the blaze under control after several hours of effort.A long queue of vehicles formed on both sides of the highway following the incident.
