State seeks teachers on deputation for Balika Sainik schools

Jaipur: The state education dept Friday invited applications from teachers for deputation to two Balika Sainik Schools in Bikaner and Sikar, which are set to start operations in the coming academic session. The schools will offer English-medium education. The move comes even as the dept faces a shortage of teachers in existing English-medium schools across the state.“There is a shortage of teachers in English-medium schools, but for a new initiative, teachers can be managed. The govt should work on giving postings to teachers selected through recruitment for English-medium schools, who are waiting since June last year,” said Vipin Prakash Sharma, president of the Rajasthan Primary and Secondary Teachers Association. Over 11,000 selected teachers are waiting for posting.Teachers interested in postings at the Balika Sainik Schools can submit their online preferences via the ‘Shala Darpan’ portal between March 14 and 18. Priority will be given to teachers who completed their education from Class 6 through Class 12 in the English medium. An official notification stated that this requirement will not apply to subject teachers of Hindi and Sanskrit, however candidates possessing academic qualifications in the English medium will be given preference.
