St. Anselm’s Senior Secondary School, Jaipur crowned champions of CBSE West Zone Under-17 Chess Championship

Jaipur: In a thrilling display of strategy and composure, the team from St. Anselm’s Senior Secondary School, Mansarovar, Jaipur (Rajasthan) emerged unbeaten champions of the CBSE West Zone Under-17 Boys Chess Championship 2025-26, held from July 27 to 30 at the TSS International School, Morena, Madhya Pradesh.Competing against 37 top schools from across the western region, the St. Anselm’s team delivered an outstanding performance, scoring a total of 12 match points out of a possible 14, securing the first rank in the final standings after seven rounds of Swiss-system play.The champion team consisted of Siddhant Chaturvedi (captain), Viraj Mangal, Aditya Dhyani and Rishi Chaturvedi. Each team member played a vital role, combining tactical depth and sharp focus to lead their school to victory in this prestigious inter-school championship recognized by CBSE.The championship featured teams in U-11, U-14, U-17, and U-19 age groups in both boys’ and girls’ categories, conducted under FIDE rules and All India Chess Federation guidelines. The event was flawlessly hosted by TSS International School, Morena.The team’s success was greatly supported by WAVES and the Royal Jaipur Chess Club, whose continued efforts in chess development played a key role in this achievement.With this victory, St. Anselm’s Sr. Sec.
