Jaipur: A series of burglaries across the city has left multiple families counting combined losses worth crores of rupees after returning home from Diwali holidays to find their houses broken into and their valuables looted.Police confirmed reports of at least a dozen such thefts and burglaries over the past week from different localities, including Shyam Nagar, Vidhyadhar Nagar, Kardhani, Narayan Vihar, and Sanganer.In most of these cases, the families were out of town for Diwali holidays, making their empty houses perfect targets for burglars. Police said investigations are underway in all such cases, with several teams analysing CCTV footage and questioning domestic helpers and watchmen in affected colonies.In one such case in Karni Vihar, burglars targeted the house of a Teeja Nagar resident and made off with 12 kilograms of silver jewellery, gold ornaments, idols, utensils, and Rs 50,000 in cash. Although CCTV cameras were installed at the main gate and inside the bedroom, the thieves appeared to have spotted them and taken them down.
