Jaipur: Chief minister Bhajan Lal Sharma Monday said a state-level committee will be formed to provide a global platform to spice producers and traders in the state for new possibilities and opportunities. Sharma was addressing the Rajasthan Spice Conclave 2025 at Birla Auditorium, where he said organising the event will provide new direction and momentum to the spice industry. He also said the Spice Conclave will now be held annually in the state.Asserting that there are immense possibilities for spice processing, Sharma said Rajasthan ranks first in cumin production in the country, second in fenugreek and fennel production, and third in coriander and carom seed production. He said to promote agricultural processing and modern technology and encourage investors, the Global Rajasthan Agritech Meet will be organised at the beginning of next year.He said that to give the state’s spices a unique global identity, major spices and other agricultural products are being given GI tags. The GI tag will benefit producers and processors with value addition, he added. He mentioned that a policy for strengthening FPOs financially is being prepared in the state. Additionally, 913 farmer producer organisations have been registered in the state so far. The CM virtually inaugurated incubation centres of Agricultural Produce Market Committee, Anganwa, Jodhpur, and Agricultural Produce Market Yard Sohela, Tonk.
