Jhunjhunu: Police here have registered a case based on the complaint of Manvendra Singh Chauhan, son of former treasurer of Shri Shyam Temple Committee, Kalu Singh Chauhan, that he received a Rs 3 crore extortion call from a man claiming to be “Harry Boxer of Lawrence Bishnoi gang”.Chauhan told police he received a WhatsApp call from a foreign number on Jan 4. The caller said, “I am Harry Boxer from the Lawrence Bishnoi gang. Arrange 3 crore rupees by tomorrow evening, or be ready to die. Do not take this matter lightly. I will come to your house and kill you with bullets and grenades.”
On Chauhan’s report, Khatushyamji station police registered a case and started an investigation, said SHO Pawan Kumar Chaube.It is noteworthy that in Sikar district, 12 people have reported to police extortion calls from men claiming to be members of Rohit Godara and Lawrence Bishnoi gangs. In Khatushyamji police station area, persons named Shyam Sundar Punia and Puranmal Harnathka had earleir reported such threats.
