ALWAR: A woman and her lover were sent to judicial custody Wednesday after Alwar police uncovered a cold-blooded murder in Kherli town. The accused, Anita Raj and her lover Kashiram Prajapat, were arrested Tuesday night along with an accomplice for killing Anita’s husband, Man Singh alias Viru (47), a tent house operator.Police said the murder was witnessed by the couple’s minor son, who later revealed the entire sequence of events to police. The incident took place on the night of June 8, when Viru was strangled to death at his home. Initially, Anita claimed her husband died of a sudden illness, but injuries on the body and the family’s suspicion led to investigation. Viru’s elder brother Gabbar filed a police complaint, pointing out signs of foul play, including injuries and a broken tooth.Kherli SHO Dheerendra Singh said Anita was in a relationship with Kashiram, who ran a snack cart near her general store. When Viru discovered the affair and confronted her, the duo conspired to eliminate him. Kashiram allegedly paid Rs 2 lakh to four men for the murder.The couple had recently moved to a new house. On the night of the murder, Anita instructed her son to sleep early. The child later woke up to noises and saw his mother unlocking the gate for Kashiram and four others. From a distance, the boy witnessed his father being assaulted and suffocated with a pillow. When he tried to stop them, he was threatened.Police reviewed over 100 CCTV recordings and interrogated locals before arresting Anita, Kashiram, and Brijesh Jatav. Two other accused are absconding. All arrested were remanded to judicial custody by court.
