Sixth edition of the CII-AU Invitation Golf Cup at the Rambagh Golf Club in Jaipur on January 24

Jaipur: The sixth edition of the CII–AU Invitation Golf Cup will be held at the Rambagh Golf Club here on January 24.The annual tournament will see participation from more than 100 players representing varied backgrounds, including General Officer Commanding-in-Chief, South Western Army Command, Lt Gen Manjinder Singh; General Manager, North Western Railway, Amitabh; Director, Income Tax (Investigation), Avadhesh Kumar; along with several bureaucrats, sportspersons, and industry members. The tourney will also feature around 12 women golfers, stated former chairman, CII Rajasthan, Gaurav Rungta during a press conference at the RGC here on Thursday.He further informed that this year the tournament will be played in the Stableford format across various handicap categories, including men, women, veterans, and 60+, among others.“Apart from this to make the tournament more exciting and engaging we have other categories including closest to the pin after 2 shots on a par 4; drive closest to the CII marker on a par 4 like the 9th; in the CII zone on a par 3; Monster putt on hole 2 and many more,” added Rungta.Vice Chairman, CII Rajasthan State Council, Rajneesh Bhandari outlined the activities and initiatives of CII. He also stated that the Cup is an initiative aimed at bringing sports and the corporate world together while promoting a healthy and fit lifestyle. As part of CII’s CSR activities, CII and AU Bank will distribute lunch boxes to all 175 caddies.On the occasion, Saurabh Tambi, President, AU Small Finance Bank, said that sports are not merely a co-curricular activity but play a vital role in fostering discipline, teamwork, and positive change in life. Supporting and promoting such initiatives, he added, is a collective responsibility.Honorary Secretary of the RGC, Samridh Sharma, expressed his pleasure over the collaboration between CII and Rambagh Golf Club, noting that sports play a significant role in human development and serve as a foundation for positive change. He added that Rambagh Golf Club remains committed to nurturing emerging talent and is also working towards establishing a Junior Golf Academy.Also present on the occasion were Senior Director and Head, CII Rajasthan, Nitin Gupta and former Chairman, CII Rajasthan, Vishal Baid.
