Jaipur: Rashi Singhal reigned supreme in the U-11 girls singles on the third day of the Shri O N Dixit Memorial District Open Badminton tournament at the Sawai Mansingh Indoor Stadium here on Thursday.Mudit Pandey gave a brilliant performance and shocked top seed Anis Chahar 21-8, 21-10 and entered the semi-finals where he defeated Pranab Mulchandani 21-13, 21-7 to enter the final. In the second semi-final, Vedhay Jain downed Naitik Bansal 21-10, 21-12 to make it to the final.In the U-11 girls singles final, Rashi Singhal ousted Ruhani Yadav in two easy games 21-5, 21-7 to claim the title.In the U-11 boys semi-finals, Naitik Bansal trounced Heemaksh 21-13, 21-14, while Lakshit Rewar dismissed Shiv Chauhan 21-12, 21-17.Padmaja Singh, repeating her previous brilliant performance, entered the finals of U-13 and U-17. In the U-13 semis, Padmaja thumped Mohika Kaushal 21-9, 21-3.In the semi-final of U-17, she defeated Varsha Singh 21-10, 21-14 and entered the final of both the categories.In the second semi-final, Aaradhya Bishnoi got the better of Hanika 21-17, 21-17 to enter the final.In the U-17 semis, Advika Sharma outclassed Pearl Pareek 28-26, 21-17 in a close contest that lasted around 45 minutes.In the U-15 boys category, Tapeshwar Poonia, Jigyasa, Manavik Bhardwaj and Nikhil Nath reached the semi-finals.Whereas in the 15 girls semi-finals, Padmaja, Ojaswita, Aaradhya Sharma, Aaradhya Dhingra entered the semi-finals.Bhavya Agarwal, Rudra Devanda, Satyam Gurjar and Akshat Shekhawat entered the semi-finals of Boys Under 17.According to organising secretary Atul Gupta, the Under-11 and U-13 boys finals and the U-13 girls finals will be played on Friday.And all the remaining singles matches will be played on Friday. According to Atul Gupta, doubles and mixed doubles matches will start from 11 am and veteran matches will be played from 5 pm.
