Jaipur: Several international stars will be seen in action during the Shri O N Dixit Memorial ITF MT-400 Tennis tournament which will be held from January 17 to 21 here at Jai Club.The five-day tourney is being organised in the memory of late O N Dixit – a senior sportsperson and sports promoter – by his son Pankaj Dixit.
Around 150 players from India, Slovenia, Canada and Ghana will participate in the tournament in the age group of 30 to 75.International players include Bojan Gorenc and Mojka Noc from Slovenia, Anand Murthy and Gursimran Singh Bhullar from Canada, and Nkwefi Joseph from Ghana.Many star and experienced players from Rajasthan, who have represented India, will also participate in this competition. Prominent among them are Dilip Shivpuri, Ashok Jindal, Lalit Sharma, Dr Dipankar Chakraborty, Sharad Tak, Laxmikant, Gurdharshan Ramana, Sohini Kumari, Jagdish Tanwar, Riyaz Ahmed and Vikas Chaudhary.The matches will be played on grass, clay, and synthetic courts. Joy Mukherjee of Kolkata will be the chief referee. Tournament director Pankaj Dixit said that this event is a true tribute to his father.
