Jaipur: A 32-year-old shopkeeper was stabbed to death following a dispute late Sunday night in Uttamadesar village under the Jasrasar police station area of Bikaner district, police said. Three persons allegedly attacked him, and one accused has been arrested while a search is underway for the others.The deceased was identified as Hariram (32), son of Badriram Godara, a resident of Uttamadesar who ran a small shop in the village. Police said the incident occurred after a dispute between Hariram and a group of youths escalated into a violent altercation. “During the argument, the accused allegedly attacked Hariram with a knife, inflicting serious injuries. He was critically wounded and collapsed on the spot, prompting family members and locals to rush him to hospital,” a senior police officer said on Monday. Relatives arranged to take Hariram to PBM Hospital in Bikaner for treatment, but he succumbed to his injuries on the way near Napasar before reaching the hospital. After receiving information, a team from Jasrasar police station reached the village and launched an investigation. “We have arrested one person in connection with the incident, and our teams are conducting raids to arrest the others. Only after all the accused are arrested will the exact reason behind the altercation be known,” an officer said. Police said the accused fled the scene after the attack, and raids are being carried out at several locations to trace them. The incident created panic in the village and nearby areas as the news spread quickly. Family members and relatives gathered at Napasar community health centre and later at Jasrasar police station, demanding the immediate arrest of all those responsible. “We are recording statements of family members and eyewitnesses to determine the exact cause of the dispute and the sequence of events leading to the fatal assault,” the officer added.
