Jaipur: Chief minister Bhajan Lal Sharma Tuesday reviewed the urban development and local self-governance department at the Chief Minister’s Office and directed officials to prepare an effective action plan for the upcoming Shehar Chalo Abhiyan. Sharma said, “Our govt’s foremost goal is to realise the spirit of Antyodaya by reaching the last person in the line and providing maximum relief. The Shehar Chalo Abhiyan, to be conducted from Sept 15 to Oct 2, will be a milestone in this direction by strengthening urban bodies with basic civic amenities and giving fresh momentum to services.” Ahead of the main campaign, pre-camps will be organised from Sept 4-13. During this period, officials will visit wards of urban local bodies, interact with councillors, and identify local issues. “This will ensure that citizens get timely and hassle-free relief during the main camps,” the CM saidd. Outlining the priorities of the drive, Sharma said, “Public utility works such as improving sanitation, installing new streetlights, controlling stray animals, issuing birth and death certificates.” TNN
