Jhunjhunu: Pilani police Monday arrested a govt school principal from Mehsana in Gujarat on charges of paying contract killers to murder a nurse she believed was having an affair with her husband. Police said Kajal Patel, 39, had paid criminals in Jhunjhunu to carry out the targeted killing.Jhunjhunu superintendent of police Brijesh Jyoti Upadhyay said the case came to light during the interrogation of six suspects picked up during an investigation into an unrelated matter — an incident of firing at a liquor store in Likhwa village last month.Police said the suspects revealed details of the murder plot, including the fact that Rs 1 lakh had been paid in advance for the killing. The total sum agreed upon for the contract was allegedly Rs 15 lakh. Police said arms and ammunition purchased with the advance amount were also used in the liquor store shootout. Patel is under interrogation, and further investigations remain underway.
