Jaipur: Rajasthan University‘s (RU) apex body, the syndicate, Friday approved the appointment of female security staff and salary increments for contract employees, bringing an end to the 18-day strike by contract staff. Unlike previous sessions, the meeting was conducted without any dissent, with all Syndicate members standing united on various issues.The syndicate also approved decisions taken by the Academic Council and emphasised full adherence to UGC guidelines. Ahead of the meeting, syndicate members, along with Civil Lines MLA Gopal Sharma and Viratnagar MLA Kuldeep Dhankhar, met student and employee representatives who were staging a protest on campus. The leaders expressed support for their demands and assured protection of their interests. MLA Sharma also requested the police commissioner to maintain campus security while ensuring that no action was taken against peaceful demonstrators.“Effective solutions can only come through better communication and cooperation between the university administration, students, and staff. As govt representatives, we remain committed to protecting the interests of all stakeholders.,” Sharma said.
