Jaipur: Rajasthan Staff Selection Board (RSSB) detected six individuals through biometric face and eye scans in the patwari recruitment exam conducted on Aug 17. They had also appeared in earlier exams under different names. The board has filed police complaints against these individuals and they will be debarred from all exams.Maj Gen (retired) Alok Raj, RSSB chairperson, explained that after biometric verification, candidates are sent for frisking, and thereafter are allowed to sit for the exam.“Our software scans information of all the candidates to match their photographs as per their identity documents submitted with the face scan. The software also checks if the name submitted in the current exam and the candidate’s face are the same as of a candidate in any previous exam. In the patwari exam, we detected that six candidates had appeared for exams earlier under different names,” Raj said.He added that as the candidates were already sent to the examination hall, they were intercepted after the exam, and a police complaint was registered against them.“We are checking the records of these candidates, and the board will also share their details with the police’s special operations group (SOG). They will also be debarred from all future exams. Strict measures are being taken to prevent dummy candidates from clearing the recruitment process,” Raj said.Officials added that by the end of this year, RSSB will have data of most of the youth in the state eligible to appear for recruitment exams, which will further strengthen the process of security checks. This will be possible as two key exams are scheduled to take place in Sept and Oct, when over 10 lakh and 25 lakh students, respectively, will appear for the recruitment exams.
