Jaipur: Rajasthan Housing Board (RHB) has proposed to the finance department the creation of its own enforcement wing, in collaboration with the state police.During a meeting Friday at the RHB headquarters in Jaipur, housing board chairman and secretary of urban development and housing (UDH) department, Debasish Prusty, approved the provision of 51 police personnel for this specialised enforcement unit.“The proposal has been forwarded to the finance department for approval,” an RHB official stated. This move aims to address the board’s longstanding reliance on district police forces and local police stations for removal of encroachments on its properties.A senior RHB official said that unlike Jaipur Municipal Corporation and Jaipur Development Authority, the board did not have any enforcement wing of its own. “For years we have had to rely on district police forces and local police stations. The process is time consuming,” the official stated.
