Jaipur/Ajmer: In a groundbreaking move, the Rajasthan Board of Secondary Education (RBSE) released the results for the Class 10 board examinations Tuesday, marking the first time in its history that these results were announced before those for Class 12 and that too in March. The rapid announcement—just 24 days post the exam completion—sets a record for the RBSE, which has traditionally released results between late May and mid-June. According to officials, this speedy process now establishes a national benchmark for educational boards, outstripping the pace previously set by the Bihar Board. “This turnaround of 23 to 24 days is being hailed as a significant administrative accomplishment in terms of speed, transparency, and efficiency,” said an RBSE official. Education Minister Madan Dilawar released the results from the RBSE headquarters in Ajmer. Nearly 10.6 lakh students registered for the Class 10 examinations held from Feb 12 to 28, with around 10.5 lakh appearing for them. The overall success rate saw about 9.9 lakh students passing the examinations. This makes a pass percentage of an impressive 94.2%, reflecting a notable step forward for the state’s educational framework. The statistics indicate a gender disparity in performance; boys recorded a pass percentage of 93.6%, while girls excelled with 94.9%, a slight improvement from the previous year’s overall pass percentage of over 93%. Over 5.5 lakh students secured first division grades, while around 3.6 lakh achieved second division and over 72,000 received third division. The girls particularly excelled in the first division, with over 2.8 lakh securing top marks. Additionally, the education department announced results for Classes 5 and 8 on the same day, contributing to the overall success in the state’s education system. The pass percentage for Class 8 sat at nearly 97%, while Class 5 saw an impressive 97.8%. This year, the board introduced a grading system for Classes 5 and 8, replacing conventional numerical scoring. The system awards grades ranging from A to E based on performance, reflecting a modern approach to student assessment. In Class 5, Grade A was awarded to nearly 35.9% of students scoring between 81 and 100 marks, Grade B to 54.6% scoring 61 to 80, Grade C to nearly 7.3% scoring 41 to 60, Grade D to 0.01% scoring 33 to 40, and Grade E to over 2.2% scoring between 0 and 32.
