Jhunjhunu: Ratangarh police in Churu district arrested a truck driver Sunday after recovering 16.195 kg of opium from a truck during a major operation on the mega highway. Ratangarh SHO Gaurav Khidiya said that during patrolling near Malasar toll, police stopped and searched a truck coming from the Ratangarh side and recovered 6 packets of 16.195 kg of opium from the truck’s stepney.
The market value of the seized vehicle and opium was approximately Rs 81 lakh rupees. Police seized the truck and arrested the truck driver, 32-year-old Ghanshyam Kumawat, a resident of Dhamniya Jagir in Pratapgarh. The accused was going towards Hanumangarh with an empty truck from Gujarat.
