Jaipur: Three days after the Central Park Bachao Sangarh Samiti served a legal notice to top govt officials challenging the legitimacy of an extraordinary general meeting (EGM) scheduled by the Rambagh Golf Club on July 12 and requested its cancellation, the club announced Friday that the meeting was postponed.TOI, in its news article ‘Notice to the golf club’s extraordinary general meet’, reported on the legal notices. In the notice Friday, Samridh Sharma, honorary secretary of Rambagh Golf Club, informed the members that the meeting scheduled to be held on July 12 at 10am has been postponed. The notice said that it was postponed at the request of the president of the Rambagh Golf Club, Debasish Prusty, principal secretary of UDH.The notice, issued to the chief secretary, UDH secretary and Jaipur Development Authority commissioner, demanded the cancellation of the meeting, citing previous high court orders that restrict the club to sporting activities only.Yogesh Yadav, president of the samiti, through his counsel Vimal Choudhary, argued that the proposed meeting, which aimed to approve a renovation budget, violated existing court directives. Both maintained that the club could not conduct such meetings without state govt approval, especially since the UDH secretary serves as the club’s president and the JDC as vice-president.Yadav said, “This is a victory of truth. We are thankful to the govt for listening to our grievance and stopping the illegal activities and illegal constructions.”
