Jaipur: Rajasthan Ranji Trophy captain Mahipal Lomror, teenage sensation Kartik Sharma and upcoming batsman Yatharth Bhardwaj received the 32nd Mathuradas Mathur Awards here on Saturday.The annual awards were distributed by chief guest Munishwar Nath Bhandari, former chief justice of Madras High Court, and the chairman, Appellate Tribunal under SAFEM Act, 1976. Tika Ram Jully, leader of the opposition of Rajasthan, and DD Kumawat, RCA ad hoc committee convenor, were the guests of honour. Rajasthan Blues Cricket Club president Vinod Mathur presided over the function. Lomror, 25, got the award in the seniors’ category and was richer by Rs 15,000. Wicketkeeper-batsman Kartik and left-handed batsman Yatharth received the prize in the junior and sub-junior categories, respectively. Both got Rs 7,500 each. All the three players were presented with a certificate of excellence, a memento and a complete cricket kit. The trio was selected by a panel of selectors which included former Rajasthan Ranji Trophy cricketers Ved Ahuja, Sanjay Vyas, Sharad Joshi, Rohit Jhalani and Gaurav Sharma. Several past and present cricketers along with RCA officials were present on the occasion.
