Jaipur: Rajasthan men’s team performed brilliantly and displayed excellent show throughout the tournament to finish runner-up in the fourth Federation Cup Kabaddi Championship held recently in Amravati, Maharashtra.Top teams from across the country participated in this prestigious four-day competition, but the Rajasthan team attracted everyone’s attention with its fine tactics.Under the leadership of team coach Sujan Chaudhary and manager Abdul Rab Naqvi, the players gave a great example of discipline and strategy.Rajasthan started the tournament with a bang by defeating hosts Maharashtra 42-40 in its first match. The second match was against Indian Railways, where the team had to face defeat 55-58 in a close contest.However, the team soon bounced back and trounced Vidarbha 48-40 and Punjab 35-14. In the semi-final, Rajasthan thumped Services 43-34 to enter the final.In the summit clash once again Rajasthan faced Indian Railways. Experienced Railways proved too hot to handle for Rajasthan as they lost 18-42.President of Rajasthan Olympic Association and president of Rajasthan Kabaddi Association, Tejasvi Singh Gehlot congratulated all the players and wished them a bright future. “The young talents of Rajasthan are making their mark on the national stage, and this is a matter of pride for the entire state,” said Gehlot.This achievement of Rajasthan will further increase the enthusiasm for kabaddi in the state and this performance will become a source of inspiration for the upcoming national competitions.Under the guidance of team coach Sujan Chaudhary and manager Abdul Rab Naqvi, the players gave a great example of discipline and strategy.The players in the team — Sachin, Lokesh, Jai Bhagwan, Jitendra, Hitesh, Kapil, Mahendra, Rajesh, Govind, Abhishek, Mahipal, Rahul, Chetan and Sunil — performed with unity and passion on the field.
