Jaipur: Rajasthan is set to unveil its Artificial Intelligence–Machine Learning (AI–ML) Policy 2026 on Jan 6 during an AI regional conclave in Jaipur, after the state cabinet approved the policy on Dec 30, officials said.The policy aims to strengthen governance systems, improve public service delivery and create new avenues for learning and employment, especially for young people. “The policy broadly focuses on three pillars — good governance and transparency, upgrading skills for students and professionals, and creating better investment and innovation opportunities,” an official involved in drafting the policy said. A major thrust of the policy is the automation of govt services and grievance redressal systems to ensure quicker responses and fewer procedural hurdles for citizens. “The idea is to automate schemes and service delivery as much as possible and provide immediate solutions to citizens,” the official added. “AI tools will also strengthen grievance redressal systems so complaints are resolved faster and more transparently.” A dedicated AI data centre is proposed to be set up in Jaipur to support govt departments, ensure secure data storage and provide real-time assistance to users across the state. In the health sector, AI will be used to assist doctors in diagnosis, pathology and telemedicine, particularly in rural areas. “AI-based systems will help read pathological reports and alert doctors in real time, even when patients are far from major hospitals,” a health department official said. “Patient and doctor data will be preserved on a centralised platform so treatment records can be accessed securely anywhere in the state.” In education, AI-based tools will be deployed to track student performance, offer personalised learning modules and improve outcomes in govt schools. The policy also focuses on building a skilled talent base by expanding AI and ML training programmes. “Students and young professionals will be encouraged to work on AI-based projects,” an official said, adding that selected AI tools may be offered through free subscriptions to provide hands-on experience. Officials said startups will be encouraged to develop AI solutions across sectors. The policy will be rolled out in phases, beginning with pilot projects in key departments.
