Jaipur: In a bid to promote tribal tourism in Rajasthan, the tourism department is developing a circuit covering Banswara and Dungarpur, said tourism minister Diya Kumari Friday. Inaugurating the three-day Rajasthan Domestic Tourism Mart promoted by the department, she said that the priority is also on promoting lesser-known destinations with travel marts in Kota, Udaipur, and Jodhpur.Underlining the importance of sustainable tourism, she appealed to the hospitality industry to adopt best practices for reducing plastic use in their operations.“Tourism is contributing 12% to the Gross Domestic Product of the state and also creates a lot of direct and indirect jobs. It also promotes Rajasthani handicrafts. That’s why we need to adopt best sustainable practices in the industry,” she said.tnn
