Jaipur: The state govt Tuesday became the first in the country to implement a policy on stray dog management in tune with the apex court’s directive. The govt’s policy notification coincided with the International Dog Day.Speaking to TOI, secretary of the local self-government (LSG) Ravi Jain said the new guidelines would help urban local bodies (ULBs) to manage stray dogs in city areas across the state. “Rajasthan is the first state to issue such a mandate and guidelines in accordance with the Supreme Court’s order of Aug 22. It has formalised the responsibilities and protocols for ULBs in addressing stray dog issues,” Jain said.
