Jaipur: Expressing displeasure over investigation not being completed in eight years in a fraud case and police not arresting a woman history-sheeter in the case, a single judge bench of Rajasthan high court Thursday said the SHO of Pratap Nagar and the ACP Pratap Nagar were clearly responsible for not taking the investigation seriously. The court directed the Jaipur police commissioner to immediately issue a chargesheet to the negligent officers and initiate a departmental inquiry against them. The bench of Justice Sudesh Bansal gave this order while hearing the petition of Ashok Mehta. The court noted that the case regarding fraud was registered at JDA police station in 2013, which was later transferred to Pratap Nagar police station. “In the case, the investigating officer held accused Ramprakash Gupta and his wife Alka Gupta guilty. Ramprakash was arrested and a charge sheet was filed against him on June 15, 2017. The investigation in the case was kept pending due to Alka not being arrested. In the case, neither Alka has been arrested till now nor the investigation has been completed,” the court said. The petitioner prayed for the court to issue directives to complete investigation in the case. A progress report was presented before the court on behalf of the govt.
