Raj HC dismisses petitions against panchayat delimitation, clears way for polls by Apr 15

Jaipur: The Rajasthan High Court, Wednesday, dismissed 60 petitions challenging the delimitation and reorganisation of panchayats, observing that the exercise was administrative in nature and judicial interference would only delay the democratic election process.Referring to Supreme Court directions, the high court said panchayat elections in Rajasthan must be completed by April 15 and any intervention at this stage would be unacceptable. After the decision, the path has been cleared for conducting timely local body elections in the state.
