Jaipur/Udaipur: The intensity of rains after a three-day spell decreased in the state Tuesday.In Udaipur, three people were killed and two managed to save themselves after their car swept away while crossing a rainfed river near Lakoda village in Udaipur district. “The deceased have been identified as Dhruv Patel , Luv Patel and Naresh Meena. However, others including Praveen Meena and Laxman Meena managed to save themselves by breaking the glass of the car,” said a police officer.Flood-affected areas, including Sawai Madhopur, Bundi and Kota witnessed no major rainfall since Monday.The Met Office said that mild to moderate showers will continue at many places in Udaipur, Kota and Jaipur divisions in the next couple of days.Devgarh (Rajsamand) received a rainfall of 80mm and was followed by Mount Abu (Sirohi) where a rainfall of 70mm was recorded, Bijolia (Bhilwara) and Neema Ka Thana (Sikar) 60, Pali 50 and a rainfall varying from 40mm to 10mm was recorded at several places in the state.Met office said heavy rainfall activity is likely to revive from Sept 1 at many places in Kota, Udaipur, Bharatpur, Ajmer and Jaipur divisions. “In the next couple of days, the rainfall activity is likely to subside, however, from Sept 1 onwards, heavy rainfall activity is likely to revive in the state,” said an officer with Met office, Jaipur.Meanwhile, many areas in flood-affected Sawai Madhopur, Bundi, Kota, Jalore and Nagaur districts were flooded and affected people were living in camps. At Sikar many localities have rampant water logging.
