Jaipur: A fresh western disturbance is set to trigger a spell of rain, thunderstorms and lightning across Rajasthan from Friday, with activity likely to continue till Sunday, the meteorological centre in Jaipur said.Jaipur, Bikaner, Jodhpur and Ajmer divisions are expected to witness changing weather, offering temporary relief from rising temperatures.The forecast follows scattered rainfall on Thursday in parts of Bikaner and Jodhpur divisions, signalling the early impact of the system. Areas including Sri Ganganagar, Hanumangarh and Churu also received light showers and drizzle by evening.Jaipur recorded a maximum of 35.2°C and a minimum of 22.2°C with partly cloudy skies, though no rainfall was reported. Conditions are expected to turn more overcast with increasing chances of showers from Friday.Dust storms preceded rainfall in Bikaner, uprooting trees and damaging electric poles, leading to power outages in several areas. Authorities are assessing the damage.In contrast, temperatures continued to rise in parts of the state. Kota was the hottest at 38.9°C, followed by Chittorgarh at 38.4°C and Barmer at 38.1°C, while most regions recorded highs between 34°C and 36°C.
