Jaipur: Monday’s heavy rainfall washed away patchwork repairs of potholed and caved-in city roads which the civic bodies started last week, officials said Tuesday. Admitting that the patchwork created more problems for them to fix, JDA officials said they waited for the weather to clear before resuming work. “We started repairing damaged roads and resolving the problem of waterlogging since late Monday. All engineers were instructed to visit the field and restore roads,” a JDA official said.According to officials, Monday’s rainfall affected several roads, including at the airport’s T2 Terminal, Shankar Pulia, Girdharipura, Jagannathpuri, Niwaru Road, Transport Nagar Underpass, Dravyavati River near Rajiv Nagar RPA, Nandpuri Underpass, Kalyan Nagar Underpass, Kalwad Road, Gandhi Path West, Chitrakoot, and Dher Ke Balaji.“We drained out water by installing pumps at 14-15 places. Apart from this, water drainage was ensured by removing garbage from the blocked drainage at places like Vidhansabha Tiraha, Trimurti Circle, Jawahar Circle, B-2 Bypass, Sahakar Marg, and Sikar Road,” another official added. The civic body has established eight sub-flood control centres across the city.
