Jaipur: Fifty six-year-old superintendent engineer of Rajasthan PWD, Avinash Sharma, died on Sunday morning after his Harley Davidson motorcycle collided with a stray bull near Daultpura on the Jaipur-Delhi highway.Sharma, the older brother of senior civil servant and additional chief secretary (energy), Ajitabh Sharma, was riding his bike towards Delhi when a stray bull suddenly entered his path. “He couldn’t steer away in time, and the impact of the collision caused him to lose balance and skid off the road,” said ACP (Chomu), Ashok Chouhan. Sharma sustained serious injuries and was rushed to SMS Hospital, where doctors declared him dead on arrival.Sharma was a resident of Bapu Nagar near Gandhi Nagar.According to sources in the city police, the bull emerged on the road abruptly, leaving Sharma with no time to react. “Initial findings suggest that the victim attempted to control the bike, but the impact was too sudden,” said an officer.Police said no other vehicle was involved in the crash. The problem of stray animals moving across roads and highways has been plaguing the city. Sources in the traffic police said that the problem has been exacerbated in the monsoon season.
