Jaipur: The Special Operations Group (SOG) Tuesday arrested a 26-year-old physical training instructor (PTI) from Jodhpur for allegedly securing his govt job by using a dummy candidate in the Physical Teacher Recruitment Examination 2022.ADG (SOG) VK Singh said that the accused, Mahendra Kumar Vishnoi, from Kaparda in Jodhpur, was posted at Govt Upper Primary School in Hanwantnagar near the Shergarh area of the district. A case was registered at the SOG police station in Jaipur on July 24, 2024, under multiple sections of the IPC, including 419 (cheating by impersonation), 420 (cheating), 467 (forgery of valuable security), 468 (forgery for cheating), 471 (using forged document), 120B (criminal conspiracy), as well as provisions of the Rajasthan Public Examination (Prevention of Unfair Means) Act, 2022.Investigations revealed that Vishnoi engaged a dummy candidate to appear in the exam on his behalf in 2022, through which he fraudulently cleared the recruitment process and secured an appointment as a govt teacher. Officials said his name surfaced during scrutiny of exam records and verification of candidates. SOG teams traced him to his current posting in Jodhpur and arrested him after the allegations were proven. He was remanded to police custody for interrogation.Officials added that the questioning is aimed at uncovering the larger network of agents and middlemen.
