Jaipur: Rajasthan Police will move all medical legal and post-mortem reports fully online from Feb 1.The shift follows directions from the Rajasthan high court which ordered that all medical legal cases and post-mortem procedures be carried out only through the MedLEaPR software and the Crime and Criminal Tracking Network and Systems (CCTNS).From Feb 1, police will treat handwritten MLCs and post-mortem reports as invalid in all police stations and hospitals. Police headquarters issued detailed guidelines to enforce uniform compliance.Police also said actions will be taken against those failing to abide by the rules. The officials said that if officers prepare MLCs or postmortem reports manually or bypass the software, responsibility will rest with the station house officer (SHO), investigating officer (IO), and district superintendent of police (SP). In Jaipur and Jodhpur commissionerates, the deputy commissioner of police and the commissioner of police will also be held accountable.Police headquarters directed officers to generate all MLC and postmortem requisitions only through CCTNS. Doctors will prepare final reports on the system, which investigators will download directly.Police said the move will cut delays, improve transparency, and prevent tampering with medico-legal records during investigation and trial.
